Skin Rejuvenation with Morpheus 8

Morpheus 8 The next generation of skin tightening and resurfacing is now here!  This advanced fractional radiofrequency microneedling treatment addresses many of the concerns of aging:

What does the treatment feel like?

This procedure uses many quick, repeated pulses of energy.  It feels like a strong stamping of the skin.

Does Morpheus 8 hurt?
The procedure uses a strong amount of energy to give you the best results, which can be uncomfortable, particularly on the face.  (The neck area is much more tolerable).  For this, we use a powerful topical numbing agent before all procedures and have laughing gas available to improve the experience.  We will discuss this with you at the pretreatment evaluation and consultation.

How is the downtime and healing afterwards?
You will be pink and slightly swollen right after your treatment, which can last for 24-36 hours.  For some patients, this may take several more days to completely resolve, but is easily covered with makeup.  There may be some small areas of bruising as well, especially involving the thin skin around the eyes.  The skin often feels slightly rough like sandpaper for 1 week thereafter while the surface of the skin is healing.  Most patients resume normal activity with makeup the very next day, but we wouldn't recommend having this procedure immediately before an important event.

How many treatments will I need?
It all depends on the extent of pre-existing skin damage and sagging as well as the amount of improvement that is desired.  Most patients require 3  treatments for optimal results.  These treatments are performed monthly.

When will I see results?
Because the Morpheus 8 treatment stimulates your body to tighten collagen and form new collagen growth, the results are not immediate and do take time.  Some patients will begin to see changes as early as one month later, while the final results are evident six months after the last treatment.  Often these changes are slow and subtle and may not be fully appreciated until the before and after photos are compared.  With this slow process, others may remark that you "are looking younger and more refreshed," but they aren't able to pinpoint specific changes.  Personally, we prefer these subtle, natural changes over the overdone, dramatic results with some procedures.

How long will my results last?
Because this procedure is stimulating collagen formation by your own body processes, the results are long-lasting, likely for years.  However, we recommend a yearly touch-up treatment to maintain further collagen growth and tightening.  Unfortunately, we can't stop the aging process just yet, but we are still fighting it off every day.

How long do treatments take?
After the topical numbing preparation of one hour, the procedure itself lasts anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area of treatment.  You can drive yourself to and from the treatment provided that you haven't consumed any medicines that would impair your driving, such as codeine.

Which areas can I treat?
While this treatment is safe for any part of the body, the most common locations are the face, neck, decollete, abdomen, and thighs.

Can I undergo this treatment if I have darker skin?
While many lasers are considered unsafe for darker skin, this procedure bypasses the upper surface of the skin and is safe for any color of skin.  There is no increased risk of pigment issues after this treatment.  Unfortunately, Morpheus 8 does not help to treat any skin discoloration concerns such as melasma or sun spots.  We have other procedures available for these conditions.
