Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid filler, similar to Restylane, used for improving wrinkles and lines primarily in the lower face. Both products can also be used to fill in deep troughs in the lower eyelid area and to plump up thin, aging earlobes to help support earrings.
What is it?
The hyaluronic acid in Juvéderm is a naturally occurring substance in the skin. This component absorbs water and adds volume in younger skin, but diminishes as the skin ages.
What is the difference between Juvéderm and Restylane?
Both products are hyaluronic acid, but they are processed slightly differently. Dr. Brown has extensive experience with both products and achieves similar results with them. Some patients prefer one product over the other, reminiscent of the “Coke vs. Pepsi” controversy.
